East Fork Yurt

East Fork Yurt is a Bear River Outdoor Recreation Alliance wilderness yurt on the north slope of Utah’s High Uinta Mountains, used as a backcountry sleep shelter for skiers and summer hikers. The yurt is sized for small groups (capacity listed as 8) and use involves reservations through the operator’s booking process.

Approach stats published for the hut show about a 1.50-mile winter approach with roughly 294 ft of elevation gain. The yurt is equipped with a fireplace and is a charged rental with reservation required, operated by Bear River Outdoor Recreation Alliance, and it’s also described as sitting on a bench above the East Fork of the Bear River near a large flat meadow below Dead Man’s Pass.
