Free and Easy

Free and Easy, also known as Free n Easy, is a Smoke Bluffs crag beside the Mamquam Blind Channel, in the Blind Channel Crags area of Squamish. The granite offers low-angle to vertical slab and crack climbing, with 48 routes ranging from 5.4 to 5.13a. The area is mostly trad, with sport and mixed options as well.

From the Smoke Bluffs parking lot, cross the small bridge, follow the shaded wooden walkway, and continue beside the channel past Jug Slab, The Zip, and Sidecar. The approach is under five minutes and about 0.33 miles. The cliff was scrubbed and equipped with topos during its early development; Smoke Bluffs parking is for day use, with no overnight parking or camping in the park.

The named route Free and Easy is a 10 m trad climb graded 5.10b, first climbed by John Howe and Randy Atkinson in 1979. The crag is also used for slab practice, with nearby lines including the 5.5 trad Marjorie Mae, 5.8 trad Elsinore, and 5.10b sport Tenacious.
