Garfield Wall

Garfield Wall, also known as Main Face, is an approximately 16-metre trad-climbing wall at the Comic Rocks crag. It is the largest wall in the crag, with 11 routes ranging from 5.7 to 5.12b; most of the climbing is 5.10 and harder.

Route lengths run from 10 to 45 metres. Examples include Garfield at 5.7 and 40 metres, Dennis The Menace at 5.9, Biffo the Bear at 5.10b, Popeye at 5.10d, Wonder Woman at 5.11b, and Vargas Girl and Spiderman at 5.12b.

The approach starts with parking alongside the highway, then follows the gravel road for about 50 metres, keeping left at the gate. Continue roughly 200 metres uphill; the wall is on the right. Bring a brush for cleaning routes. Most routes have anchors in place.

For Garfield, the descent is south on foot or by rappel from the Vargas Girl anchors with a 60-metre rope; a 70-metre rope reaches the ground from Garfield's anchors.
