Goat Creek Hut
Goat Creek Hut is a basic four-bunk backcountry hut in the Mōkihinui River area (Buller area) on the West Coast, managed by the Department of Conservation. Use is free and bookings aren’t required—this hut is first-come, first-served.
The hut has bedding (mattresses) and a fireplace, plus pit latrine toilets. There’s no drinking water supplied at the hut, and it’s targeted at advanced trips, with a typical stay of 4–5 days. The official visitor base for navigation resources is the Paparoa National Park Visitor Centre.
