Golden Hills Hut

Golden Hills Hut is a helicopter-access backcountry base in the Kaimanawa/Kaweka area of New Zealand, managed as part of an Owhaoko B & D Trust hunting block. The hut setup is for 4 people, with a gas cooker, pots and pans, and cutlery/ceramics provided.

Stay is capped at 7 nights per booking. The hut is closed annually from 20 Dec–1 Mar and 1 Jun–30 Sep, and use follows strict block rules including “no night shooting” and prohibitions on spotlights, night-vision/IR/thermal imaging gear. Booking and access are handled through Helisika, and blocks are delivered by helicopter from the Helisika base near Poronui Station.
