Gonzales Creek Wall
Gonzales Creek Wall is a compact Squamish trad crag with 12 routes from 5.10b to 5.12b. The climbing ranges across steep, featured faces and cracks, with textured rock and dykes on the broad slab at the right side.
The wall faces WSW: its base stays shaded while the main face receives afternoon sun. From Murrin Park, use the chain-up area or Gonzales Creek pullout about 1 km before Shannon Falls, cross the highway, find the yellow gate, and hike up and right to the wall.
The longer lines include Candyland, a four-pitch 100 m 5.10c on the right slab, Roll the Dice, a four-pitch 95 m 5.12c, and Snakes and Ladders, a four-pitch 85 m 5.11a. The Game of Life is a 34 m 5.12a mixed-trad testpiece.
A 70 m rope is only just sufficient for lowering from routes on the left, which finish below a midway ledge. Loose holds or blocks may remain on the climbs; wear a helmet and assess the rock and protection for yourself.
