Hapuku Hut

Hapuku Hut is a standard 6-bunk Department of Conservation backcountry hut in Ka Whata Tu o Rakihouia Clarence, Marlborough. Use is first come, first served—standard bookings aren’t required, but you must buy a Standard Hut Ticket for each night and put it in the honesty box at the hut (or use a Backcountry Hut Pass for unlimited use at most Standard and Serviced huts for a 12-month period).

The hut has a fireplace, mattresses, and toilets with pit latrine disposal. Fees are listed as $10 per night for adults (18+), $5 for youth (5–17), and free for children/infants (0–4) up to 30 June 2026; hut-ticket rates change from 1 July 2026.
