Heaphy Hut Warden's Quarters

Heaphy Hut Warden's Quarters are the private staff residences on the Heaphy Track in Kahurangi National Park. While the neighboring Heaphy Hut is for trampers, the warden’s quarters are off-limits for trampers; on-site staff can still help with track information, weather, and checking bookings.

The quarters are set up to house warden staff, with beds arranged as 28 total bunks across individual bunk rooms. Cooking and cleaning facilities include gas cooking hobs, sinks with cold running water, lighting, heating (including a log burner), flush toilets, and picnic tables; showers aren’t available. Trampers are not permitted to use the indoor hut facilities or cooking shelters if they are camping at the adjacent Heaphy Campsite.
