Jellicoe Hut
Jellicoe Hut is a private backcountry hut on Manuka Point Station in Canterbury. It was originally built for Governor-General Lord John Jellicoe. The hut sleeps up to 4 people on mattresses, and it has heating plus basic cooking support, including cookers and an open fire.
Use is controlled by access permission through Manuka Point Station. For a recreational visit you need clearance in advance (and potentially any associated fees), while emergency shelter use is generally available. For stays, plan around the station’s guidance and contact them directly to confirm access terms and instructions before you travel.
