Jollie Hut
Jollie Hut is a Department of Conservation backcountry hut in the Gamack Conservation Area near Lake Pukaki. It’s reached via a signposted track off Braemar Mount Cook Station Road on the eastern side of Lake Pukaki; the approach is 3 km to the hut, and the track can be used on foot or by mountain bike (it initially passes through private land).
Use is free and no bookings are required; it operates on a first-come, first-served basis. The hut has 5 bunk beds and includes a fireplace, with drinking water available only as untreated water; toilets are pit latrine type. Basic/bivvies accommodation is also available.
