Kelman Hut

Kelman Hut is a serviced backcountry hut in Aoraki/Mount Cook National Park, operated by the Department of Conservation. It sleeps 14 in an alpine serviced hut setting, with 14 bunk beds available on a first-come, first-served basis (no bookings required). A daily radio check-in and weather update is run for huts in the Aoraki/Mt Cook National Park area; follow the instructions in the hut on how to take part.

Fees are NZ$40 (NZ Alpine Club members NZ$20). Backcountry Hut Passes and Backcountry Hut Tickets can’t be used at this hut. The hut has drinking water that is not treated and a pit latrine toilet system.
