Kiwi Saddle Hut

Kiwi Saddle Hut is a Department of Conservation standard 6-bunk backcountry hut in Kahurangi National Park (Nelson/Tasman). It’s a first-come, first-served hut with no standard bookings required; for each night, you’re expected to buy a Standard Hut Ticket and place it in the honesty box at the hut (or use a Backcountry Hut Pass for unlimited use at most Standard and Serviced huts).

Inside, it sleeps 6. The hut has a mattress, a fireplace, and toilets (pit latrine), and it has untreated drinking water. Tracks to the hut take about 3 hours, with difficulty described as intermediate.
