Larrikin Creek Hut
Larrikin Creek Hut is a standard 4-bunk backcountry hut in Kahurangi National Park (Nelson/Tasman region), run by the Department of Conservation. It’s designed for first-come, first-served use: no standard bookings are required, and you sleep on 4 beds.
Plan for DOC-style hut fees and ticketing: you pay per night (adult $10 per night; youth $5 per night; children/infants 0–4 free) and place a Standard Hut Ticket in the honesty box for each night you stay, with an alternative Backcountry Hut Pass option. Drinking water is untreated. The hut has a fireplace and toilets with pit-latrine disposal. Access is via the Matiri Valley and the 1000 Acre Plateau tramping tracks.
