Liebig Hut

Liebig Hut is a standard six-bunk backcountry hut in Aoraki/Mount Cook National Park, operated by Department of Conservation Te Papa Atawhai. It’s first come, first served (no standard bookings required), with a daily radio check-in and weather update for the alpine huts in the area at 6:45 pm.

Use requires planning and self-navigation: there is no DOC track access to the hut. The hut has pit latrines and sleeps up to 6 people; there’s no drinking water provided, and there’s no fireplace.
