Lonesome Lenny
Lonesome Lenny is a compact sport-climbing crag in Cheakamus Canyon, set in a small vegetated canyon beneath large Douglas firs. Its short routes climb high-quality stone and favor power-endurance movement, making the area a useful alternative when the main Chek sectors are busy.
The crag has seven routes ranging from 5.9 to 5.13, including lines graded 5.11, 5.11a, 5.11c, and 5.12b. The east-facing walls receive morning sun; the Upper Wall dries quickly, while the Lower Wall holds moisture longer.
Allow roughly 15–20 minutes for the approach from parking at the Highway 99–Conroy Forest Road intersection. Follow Highway 99 south for about 100 metres, cross near the north end of the flat brushy bench, and look for the bush gap and large cairns marking the rough trail. The path climbs through forest, then traverses left over mossy slabs to the cliffline.
