Mangamaire Hut

Mangamaire Hut is a remote backcountry hut used for private hunting-block trips, with helicopter access organized through Helisika. It has 4 bunks, a cooker, and basic hut facilities.

Stays are handled as hunting-block bookings with strict limits: up to 7 nights per booking, and a minimum of two land-fee nights per booking. The hut sits within a closed-season window from 20 December to 10 March, and from 1 June to 30 September each year, and DOC hunting permits are required if hunting on adjoining DOC land. Shooting rules include no night shooting, and stags may not be shot in velvet.
