Meg Hut

Meg Hut is a Department of Conservation backcountry hut in the Pisa Conservation Area (Otago). It’s a standard eight-bunk hut: 8 bunks, no bookings required, and stays are first come, first served—paying via a Standard Hut Ticket placed in the honesty box. Use requires a ticket for each night (blue for adults, yellow for youth), or you can use a Backcountry Hut Pass for unlimited use at most Standard and Serviced huts over a 12-month period.

The hut has 8 bunks and includes a fireplace, mattresses, and toilets (pit latrine). Fees are listed as $10 per night for adults (18+) and $5 per night for youth (5–17), with infants/children (0–4) free; rates listed on the official page run through 30 June 2026, with updated rates from 1 July 2026.
