Meissner Shelter

Meissner Shelter is a basic backcountry warming hut used by skiers in the MeissnerNordic network near Bend, Oregon. It’s an unstaffed facility and is intended as a daytime stop while you’re out on the Nordic trail system—no reservation is used for access.

Use is on a first-come, first-served basis. Winter access revolves around Virginia Meissner Sno-Park, where Nordic skiing (classic and skate) and snowshoeing connect into the broader trail area that passes the shelter; Meissner Nordic also notes there’s no fee to use the groomed ski trails, though Sno-Park permits are required for parking in winter.
