Swampy Shelter
Swampy Shelter is a basic backcountry warming shelter in the Deschutes National Forest near Bend, Oregon, used by cross-country skiers and other winter trail users in the Swampy Lakes area. It includes a wood-burning stove for warming up.
Use is free and it’s strictly for daytime warming—there’s no overnight stay permitted. The hut is accessed from the Swampy Sno-Park (about 10 miles west of Bend), and it’s supported as a short stop along the winter trails rather than a place with sanitation facilities.
