Mid Robinson Hut

Mid Robinson Hut is a standard six-bunk hut in Victoria Forest Park (West Coast region), operated by the Department of Conservation. It’s intended for backcountry overnights, with use on a first-come, first-served basis (standard hut bookings aren’t required).

Facilities include mattresses, a fireplace, and toilets with pit-latrine disposal. There is no drinking water provided at the hut, and a hut ticket is required: for stays up to 30 June 2026, it’s $10 per night for adults (18+), $5 for youth (5–17), and free for children/infants (0–4), placed in the honesty box at the hut each night; alternatively, a Backcountry Hut Pass can be used for unlimited standard/serviced hut access over 12 months.
