Mokihinui Forks Hut

Mokihinui Forks Hut is a basic DOC ten-bunk backcountry hut in the Mokihinui River area on the West Coast, in Paparoa National Park. It’s intended for multi-day trips (DOC lists a 4–5 day duration) and is managed by the Department of Conservation, with no bookings required—use is first come, first served.

The hut sleeps up to 10 people and includes a fireplace, mattresses, and toilets (pit latrine disposal). Water is available as untreated drinking water, so plan to treat it before drinking.
