Neat and Cool

Neat and Cool is a trad-climbing crag in Squamish’s Smoke Bluffs, with 53 routes spanning roughly 5.5 to 5.12c. The area is weighted toward traditional climbing, with a mix of easier lines and harder routes; several routes use mixed protection or sport bolts.

The crag has a short approach from the climbers’ parking area. Follow the path south, take the left fork at the gravel-road junction, pass the outhouses and nearby crags, then continue until the cliff lies beside houses. Respect the residential setting: keep noise down, do not climb on closed cliffs on private land, and do not use fences, hydro towers, or similar structures as anchors.

The area’s signature route, Neat and Cool, is a 30-metre trad climb rated 5.10a and carries a three-star quality rating. Its line combines a steep face with a crack, making it a useful target for climbers looking for a substantial single-pitch outing within the crag.
