North Star Wall
North Star Wall is a granite sport-climbing crag in Cheakamus Canyon near Squamish, set on a knoll close to the lower Chek campground. The approach takes about 15 minutes, following flagging tape through a mossy talus field and then using cairns.
The wall has four listed sport routes. Ursa Minor is a six-pitch, 120 m climb rated 5.8 overall, with pitches ranging from 5.2 to 5.8. Jay MacArthur's Kaiju Bear is a four-pitch, 100 m 5.8 sport route and calls for 14 or more quickdraws. King Edward Chan and Amazing Grace Chan are both five-pitch, 120 m routes rated 5.9; Amazing Grace Chan shares its first pitch with King Edward Chan.
Ursa Minor returns by a flagged trail on the south side, including a short fixed-rope section, before following a forested ridge back to the campground. The descent takes about 15 minutes.
