Papoose Frontside
Papoose Frontside, also known as Main Area, Frontside, is a trad-climbing sector of Papoose near Squamish, British Columbia. The area has roughly 15–17 routes and reaches about 62 m in height, with the climbing oriented northwest.
The sector is centered on multi-pitch trad climbing. Hairpin is a five-pitch 5.10a route at about 120 m, while Transit of Venus climbs four pitches at 5.10a and 100 m. Hanging Gardens adds a three-pitch 5.10c option at approximately 88 m; Mushroom provides a 5.9 classic for an easier objective.
Hairpin was first climbed in 1965 by Tim Auger and Dan Tate, with the first free ascent completed in 1978 by Don Serl, Vic Coulomb, and Greg Yavorsky. The short approach to the sector is about 0.2 miles.
