Pinnacles Hut

Pinnacles Hut is a serviced Department of Conservation backcountry hut in Coromandel Forest Park (Kauaeranga Valley). It provides 80 bunk beds and is staffed by a warden at all times. Use requires booking online in advance—reservations are required, and the hut is not set up for walk-in stays without a booking.

Facilities include gas cookers plus a solid fuel burner, a kitchen, solar lighting, and a cold shower. Water is limited and not always available, so plan to arrive prepared. The hut has a fireplace and uses pit latrines for toilets; dog access is not allowed (other pets have rules on conservation land).
