Stony Bay Bach

Stony Bay Bach is a backcountry-style holiday bach in Northern Coromandel, run by the Department of Conservation. It sits inside Stony Bay campground, less than two minutes from the beach, with booking required; check-in is after 2 pm and checkout is by 11 am.

Inside the bach sleeps 5 (one bedroom with two sets of bunks plus a sofa bed in the living room). There’s an electric oven, cookware and eating utensils, a fridge/freezer and microwave, plus a fan heater, and it has a hot shower and a flush toilet. You’ll need to bring your own bedding, towels, and pillows, and the stay is pack in, pack out with food-waste composting only; bring a sealable container for scraps. No dogs are allowed.
