Pleasant Gully Hut
Pleasant Gully Hut is a private backcountry hut on Fiery Peak Station in Canterbury. It’s part of the Four Peaks High Country Track hut network, originally built as a shepherd’s base hut (built in 1897 or 1900) and later refurbished after deterioration, including re-lining the interior with oregon timber.
The hut has 6 bunks. Use includes cooking and heating, with mattresses and lighting provided, plus toilets and a water supply sourced by roof collection into a tank. Access requires permission and advance booking for the multi-day track package, and the track (and its hut network) operates in summer and autumn, roughly October 1 to April 30.
