Polnoon Hut
Polnoon Hut is a remote backcountry cabin in New Zealand’s Harris Mountains (Queenstown-Lakes District), used as a base for multi-day trips in the area. It’s reached on foot or by ski/hike approaches starting from the Treble Cone chairlift area, and it’s intended for backcountry use rather than day-hiking-style access.
Use is reservation-based through the Mountain Turk Club. The hut sleeps 4 people on beds, with space for 2 additional sleepers on the floor, and it functions as a basic wilderness shelter (bring what you need for self-sufficiency and leave the hut clean for the next group).
