Polnoon Saddle Turk

Polnoon Saddle Turk is a small backcountry turk hut on the shoulder of Siberia Peak, just above the Motatapu/Polnoon saddle. It’s positioned for sun exposure and offers views toward the upper Polnoon River, and it’s intended for parties traveling the Mahu Whenua traverse.

Capacity is 4 people, and it uses a pit toilet. The Mountain Turk Club is responsible for the turks and their immediate vicinity; there are no officially formed tracks or markers to reach the turk, so you must navigate by map and/or GPS and be set up for alpine travel, including carrying a PLB (locator beacon).
