Pororari Hut
Pororari Hut is a Department of Conservation Great Walk hut on the Paparoa Track in Paparoa National Park. It has 20 bunks and a hut ranger is based at the hut in summer, with the ranger able to provide information on the track and weather. Use here is via Great Walk bookings—Great Walk Bookings are required, and Backcountry Hut Passes and Backcountry Hut Tickets can’t be used at this hut.
Inside the hut there are mattresses on the bunks, gas cooking facilities, and sinks with cold running water. Cold running water, long drop toilets, and toilet paper are provided in Great Walk huts on the Paparoa Track; toilets use a long drop toilet system with pit latrines. Bring your own cooking equipment and sleeping bag (these aren’t supplied). There are no showers in the Paparoa Track huts. Fees are per person, per night, with NZ rates and international rates that differ by season (1 May–30 September: adult NZ and adult international both $50; 1 October–30 April: adult NZ $61 and adult international $92).
