Quagmire Area

Quagmire Area is a sub-area of The Malamute near Squamish, British Columbia, with a compact collection of roughly 7–8 routes. The climbing is predominantly traditional, although some route listings classify the sector as mostly sport climbing; treat the style information as mixed and consult a current topo before choosing a rack.

Quagmire Crack is a documented single-pitch line in the area, rated 5.10c and approximately 140 feet long, with sustained finger-crack climbing leading to an offwidth finish. The wall faces south. Access at The Malamute requires a “rap in, climb out” approach because the CN railway right of way runs below the cliffs; climbs beginning within 8 metres of the tracks are closed.
