Refugio Italia Manfredo Segre

Refugio Italia Manfredo Segre (Refugio Italia) is a backcountry alpine hut in the Laguna Negra / Cerro Tronador area. The hut sits at about 1,650 m and is used as an overnight base on multi-day treks through the Nahuel Huapi region.

A common approach links the hut with nearby high-lake legs of the traverse between Laguna Jakob and Laguna Negra. One frequently described day on this traverse is roughly 9.6 km with about 1,068 m of total ascent from Laguna Jakob to the hut area, though steeper, more technical ground is concentrated on the connecting section near the start of the route. The hut is also used as a sleep stop on longer multi-day itineraries that combine several refuges/lakes around Laguna Negra and Cerro Tronador.
