Refugio Laguna Ilón

Refugio Laguna Ilón is a backcountry hut near Laguna Ilón in the Pampa Linda area above Bariloche. Use is year-round, and the refuge has two domes: a dorm dome with 30 shared beds and a communal dining dome open to guests, plus an on-site camp area, bathrooms, and potable water.

Meals are provided, and there’s also a kiosk. Access from Bariloche is typically done by minibus in season; by private vehicle, the usual start point is Pampa Linda, where the hike begins and then continues on to the refuge. Before starting, you must complete the required trekking registration with national park authorities, and you’ll want a sleeping bag (the refuge can provide rental if you don’t have one).

On-site rules include reserving in advance for both beds and the self-managed camping area. Guests don’t have access to showers, and cooking in the guest areas isn’t allowed.
