Robson's Lodge
Robson's Lodge is a historic DOC backcountry lodge in Kaweka Forest Park (Hawke’s Bay), built in 1908 and set on a small hill with views over Kuripapango. It’s available for hire for schools, clubs, or family groups, and bookings are required.
The lodge sleeps 14 across 2 bunkrooms and 1 bedroom. Facilities include a simple kitchen with a wood range, wood heating in the main lounge, a bathroom with 2 showers, a flush toilet, and a laundry tub. You need to bring sleeping bags/bedding and pillows, plus firewood for the wood range and a generator to power the lighting (use the generator directly for other appliances to avoid overloading). The lodge uses tank water and drinking water should be boiled, filtered, or treated. Fees apply (listed per night for up to 14 people): $95 on weekdays and $113 on Friday/Saturday nights; updated rates take effect from 1 July 2026. Check-in is after 11 am and check-out is before 10 am; pets aren’t permitted.
