Rossland - Better Than Nothing

Rossland - Better Than Nothing is a wooded climbing area with short, generally well-protected routes. Most climbs are bolted, with some lines requiring natural protection, and the setting is suitable for introducing younger climbers to the crag.

The approach follows Highway 3B north from Rossland, then Mann Road and Meyer Road. From the turnaround, continue 1.3 km on a 4WD road, or reach the crag on foot or by bike; the walk from the turnaround takes about 15–20 minutes. High-clearance vehicle access can be limited by snow, water, and mud until roughly June.

Anchors are arranged with lead climbing in mind, so top-ropers may need long webbing to limit rope drag. Route examples include Chain of Fools at 5.9 on the Left Wall, Flakey Direct at 5.8 trad, Fernando's Crystal at 5.10a mixed, Tendinitis at 5.10a sport, and T-rex Troubles at 5.11c sport.
