Ruapehu Ski Club Hut

The Ruapehu Ski Club Hut is a club backcountry hut on the Whakapapa skifield area. It sits about 40 m uphill from the Ruapehu Ski Club Lodge and is on Hutt Flat at roughly 1,780 m altitude, with an easy downhill ski or board route from the front door to the second chairlift.

Inside, the hut sleeps 32 people in bunkrooms of eight bunks. Accommodation and living areas are all on one level; the basement provides space to store skis and boards, lockers, a drying room, and supply storage.

Facilities include four bunk rooms (32 single beds), a lounge with an open fire, plus a pool table and games area. It also has wax and drying rooms and a winter live-in cook who provides meals, and the building runs on a daily rostered-duty system.
