Runestone Wall

Runestone Wall is a short traditional-climbing cliff in Squamish’s Smoke Bluffs. Its nine recorded routes are single-pitch lines from 12 to 15 metres, with grades ranging from YDS 5.3 to 5.11b. The wall was developed in 2011 and includes crack-focused climbs such as the 15-metre Sigurd, a novice-friendly line with good protection, and the 12-metre Runestone Pinnacle Left and Right routes.

The crag is reached in under five minutes by following the trail just past Easter Island. Descents are by rappel or walk-off, depending on the route. Inspect the wall and individual features before committing, particularly after wet weather, and follow Smoke Bluffs practice around nearby homes and private-land boundaries: keep noise down and never use fences or hydro towers for anchors.
