Slip Flat Hut

Slip Flat Hut is a basic three-bunk backcountry hut managed by the Department of Conservation in the Greenstone and Caples Conservation Areas in Otago, in the Queenstown/Wakatipu area. It’s set up for straightforward, first-come-first-served use with bookings not required.

The hut has free use and includes a fireplace, mattresses, and toilet facilities using a pit latrine. Drinking water is not provided, so plan to carry your own. If you’re walking Te Araroa, you can register and buy the Te Araroa Trail Pass before heading in.
