Soo River Bluffs

Soo River Bluffs is a climbing area about 15 km north of Whistler, reached from Highway 99 via the Soo River Forest Service Road. After roughly 10 minutes on the forest road, continue across the bridge by the dam to a large clearing used for parking and camping. Access is generally suitable for 2WD vehicles once snow and ice have melted.

The main walls are reached by a steep trail from the road, followed by about 10 minutes through woodland and 20 minutes across talus. The area includes 56 sport climbs and 2 trad climbs, organized into sectors including Black Wall, Bleached Buttress, Not So Little Wall, River Killer, The Pyramid, Weirdstone Wall, and Worley Wall.

The southwest-facing crags can become very hot in midsummer. Spring and fall offer more comfortable temperatures; some routes are sheltered from light summer rain, while heavy rain can leave the rock wet. Route development remains active, so helmets are advised and climbers should avoid areas where cleaning is underway and respect ongoing projects.
