Stanley Peak
Stanley Peak is a documented climbing area in Kootenay National Park, close to the Banff boundary. It is known primarily for ice climbing, with the Stanley Headwall rising above the approach into the upper valley.
The Stanley Headwall contains The Stanley Headwall, a long, serious rock route graded 5.10a—the only established rock climb identified for the headwall in the available guide material. The approach is associated with the Stanley Glacier trail; its trailhead parking area is 15 km south of Castle Junction on Highway 93 South. The trail reaches the glacier area in 4.9 km one way, with 405 m of gain and 115 m of loss.
