Stern Valley Hut

Stern Valley Hut is a Mōkihinui-Lyell Backcountry Trust backcountry stop on The Old Ghost Road in Kahurangi National Park, in the Mōkihinui River area. It’s set up for bunk-based stays and also supports multi-day tramping and mountain biking users along the track.

The hut has 10 bunk beds and you can use the booking system to secure your place; advance booking is required (no use via Backcountry Hut passes/tickets). Fees are trip-based rather than per night, and the hut is managed through the Old Ghost Road booking process.
