Te Rerepahupahu Hut
Te Rerepahupahu Hut is a small Department of Conservation backcountry hut in the Waitaanga Conservation Area (Taranaki), reached as an overnight stop during tramps to Te Rerepahupahu Falls. The hut has four bunks and is primarily equipped for basic DOC-style use, with a wood stove/fireplace and rainwater collection.
On-site facilities include a toilet, and the hut has a reputation for occasional locking. The approach from Waitaanga South Road to the hut follows an historic logging tramline through forested stream country, with swing bridges along the way; from the hut it’s a short onward walk to the base of the falls area for camping nearby.
