The Clean Boulders
The Clean Boulders is a bouldering sector in Squamish’s North Walls, within the wider Chief climbing area. It has 69 listed problems from V0 to V11, with mostly flat landings and enough variety for a short solo session or a first outdoor bouldering outing.
Access follows the Mamquam Forest Service Road for 2.4 km from the Apron parking lot. A small pullout on the left accommodates about four to five vehicles; the first boulder, including the start of Welcome (V4), is directly across the road.
The circuit includes accessible problems such as Hydrogen (V2), Bear Trap (V2), and Welcome, alongside harder lines including Immunized (V9) and Ovation (V11). Hydrogen’s first ascent is credited to Jack Fieldhouse in 2000, while Immunized was first climbed by Scott Tasaka in 2002.
