The Estuary

The Estuary, also called The Estuary Wall, is a sector of Paradise Wall in Paradise Valley, Squamish. The wall includes both single-pitch climbing and the sport multi-pitch route The Legend of Wountie.

The Legend of Wountie climbs at 5.11a (5.10b/c A0), 5.10c, 5.10c, 5.10a. Its 30 m second pitch is technical, with continuous texture on excellent rock. The recommended first pitch follows Served on a Cedar Plank at 5.11a, with an aid option; Down the Hatch at 5.10d is an alternate start with a longer runout near the top.

The sector also includes Fish Ladder, a 5.11c route characterized by three-dimensional climbing. The Legend of Wountie was first climbed by Michael Flynn on July 6, 2016.

A walk-off descent from the Estuary Wall follows the forest; after clearing the dome, turn left.
