The Solarium
The Solarium is a southerly-facing climbing crag on the backside of the Stawamus Chief in Squamish, reached by the Chief’s backside trail. The approach takes about 45 minutes and is moderately difficult; after the Scatterbrain/Nick’s Trick area, continue roughly 20 m beyond the descent ramp to a salal-covered ledge.
The crag includes multi-pitch routes across the moderate to mid-5.10 range. Sunshine Breakfast is 5.9 over three or four pitches, with a chimney traverse on its first pitch. Sunblessed is a three-pitch, 110 m mixed climb graded 5.10b, while Solarium Dyke is a 35 m, 5.10a climb protected by nine bolts and positioned about 10–15 m left of Another Imperfection.
