The Terraces

Loading map…

The Terraces is a multi-tiered crag in the Grand Canyon area of Skaha Bluffs, with upper, middle, and lower sections. Its climbing is predominantly sport, with 25 sport routes and three trad lines recorded across the tiers.

The rock is glacier-polished gneiss, ranging from slab climbing through vertical technical endurance to shorter, more powerful lines involving small holds and larger movements. The listed sport grades run from 5.8 to 5.12d; trad routes span 5.8 to 5.11a.

From the upper parking lot, follow the upper trail toward Grand Canyon. After roughly 5–10 minutes, stay on the Grand Canyon trail; it passes through the base of The Terraces. The crag is considered the easiest of the three main Grand Canyon sectors, while the wider canyon offers walls on both sides for differing sun and shade conditions.
