Trail Side Crag

Trail Side Crag is the first wall reached on the approach into the Exstew climbing area, with the trail continuing right toward Main Wall. The sector has two sport routes on a 12 m wall.

Exstew lies about 30 minutes from Terrace toward Prince Rupert. From central Terrace, the approach begins roughly 35 km along Highway 16 before turning onto a fire road; continue 4.2 km past the quarry, take the second right, and follow it about 100 m to the trailhead. The road can be washed out, deeply rutted, and affected by sinkholes, so a suitable 4WD vehicle may be necessary, with a walk-in possible if driving conditions deteriorate. Bring ample mosquito protection.
