Tramper's Inn
Tramper's Inn is a backcountry wilderness hut with bunk beds (10) and a simple kitchen sink setup. It’s a basic cabin option on long tramp-style routes, with water at the hut, cold outdoor shower access, and nearby campsites for groups who arrive with extra options.
For hut stays, plan around the general DOC backcountry-hut setup: bunks/sleeping platforms and toilet facilities, but no showers, hot water, cooking and eating utensils, or bed linen provided. You’ll also need to bring a sleeping bag or sheets/blankets, and follow the standard hut user code (keep it tidy, manage fuel/CO risk if cooking/heating, and carry out all rubbish).
