TUNA Yurt
TUNA Yurt is a backcountry yurt operated by The Utah Nordic Alliance (TUNA) in the Uintah National Forest under a permit, kept on a permanent platform and usable year-round for activities such as hiking, camping, mountain biking, horse packing, and skiing. The yurt sleeps up to 8 with 8 bunks and includes a wood stove plus a propane cooking stove, lamps, and cooking equipment, with cut-and-split firewood provided and a year-round spring about 100 feet away.
Bookings require a reservation, and there is a fee. The yurt has a covered deck/storage area and it was moved in 1999 from the North Fork to its current location along the Norway Flats road, about 11 miles north of Kamas on the Mirror Lake Highway.
