Venus Hut

Venus Hut is a standard 12-bunk backcountry hut in Kahurangi National Park (Nelson/Tasman). It’s managed by the Department of Conservation and is used for multi-day hut-based trips in the Motueka area.

Bookings aren’t required; it’s first come, first served. Fees apply—there’s an adult rate per night and a lower youth rate, with no charge for infants/children under 5; you buy a Standard Hut Ticket for each night and place it in the honesty box at the hut. The hut has drinking water that’s untreated, plus a fireplace and toilet with pit latrine disposal.
